A Canadian trade mark is filed with CIPO (the Canadian Intellectual Property Office). Anyone may apply, but an owner without a place of business in Canada must appoint a Canadian representative — a role we fill for you. Because Canada isn't part of the Madrid System, protection there can only be obtained through a national CIPO filing.
